Kasey started racing micro-midget cars at age 14. Success came quickly, in 1996 he won two Mini-Sprints championships. Kasey raced in other series including the World of Outlaws and USAC. He won the 2000 USAC Midget Series championship and was named the National Midget Driver of the Year.
NASCAR noticed his success and by 2002 he landed a part time NASCAR Nationwide Series ride. In 2003 during his first full time season he finished seventh in points and won his first series race.
Because Kasey adapted quickly to stock cars he was hired by Ray Evernham to drive the No. 9 Dodge in the NASCAR Cup Series. In 2004 he was named Cup Series Rookie of the Year. In 2005 he won his first Cup Series race at
Richmond International Raceway.
In 2006 Kasey had a series leading six wins. The 2007 season was a disaster he finished 19th in the points with six DNFs.
Kasey seems to be oblivious to his fame, the women love him and that makes him a sponsors dream. In 2008 Budweiser became his sponsor. I'm sure that they know what they are doing but to me he doesn't seem like a Bud kind of guy. It seems to me that a wine cooler is more his style.
Kasey has some entertaining commercials. The commercials portrait him as oblivious to these women. Is it an act? Who knows but it makes for some funny commercials.
